A Touch of Tuscany in Fronsac
An Enhanced Terroir

The Château’s Vineyards
Château de La Dauphine is located in the heart of a 66-hectare vineyard in the Fronsac AOC, composed of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc.
Nestled on the Fronsac hillsides and embraced by a bend in the Dordogne river, the Château’s vineyards form an amphitheater, gilded by the southern sun.
With a 60m elevation change, the soil is rich and generous, offering the vines several types of soil:
– limestone plateaus, asteriated limestone, clay-limestone slopes over shallow Fronsadais molasse, sandy clay-loam foothills over clay subsoil.
Organic Farming Certification
After three years of conversion, the château obtained organic farming certification (AB) for its 2015 vintage:
- Elimination of all chemical products and pesticides
- Soil lightly cultivated beneath the vines, with natural vegetation between rows, and leaves are thinned on the side facing the rising sun.
The château uses natural products based on minerals, plants, essential oils, and manure. Preparations follow the lunar calendar to work with respect for people and the rhythms of nature.
La Dauphine’s philosophy?
To give particular care to the vine and its environment to produce a quality wine!

At Château La Dauphine, biodynamics is much more than a cultivation method: it is a true working philosophy. Inspired by natural rhythms and respect for living things, this approach aims to strengthen the balance between the vine, the soil, and its environment. Every action is carefully considered to support the plant, prioritizing natural treatments and dynamic preparations. This harmony between tradition and modernity allows the full singularity of the terroir to be expressed, while reducing inputs and optimizing production costs. A committed approach, where Man and Nature advance together, with humility and high standards.
